"Email for Media" Webpage

Before launching a campaign it can be extremely beneficial to post a single page website using the Topspin "Email for Media" widget. By setting up this single page website you can begin to lay the groundwork for your pre-order campaign. You will want as many fans (email addresses) as possible when announcing your pre-order packages, so first engage fans with a free download and in turn watch your list begin to grow.

To set up a basic '"Email for Media" webpage follow these basic steps:

1) Set up your HTML webpage, see my example here: http://www.nomineedesign.com/topspin/e4m.html

NOTES:

  • It helps if you have a very basic understanding of HTML
  • Notice that there is only one image on this page, a custom logo header, making it very easy to build a nice looking page with little graphic design abilities.
  • I've integrated an "Add This" section into the HTML file, so now fans can share this page on Facebook, Twitter or other social network and my "Email for Media" site has now gone viral. Also, please note that this functionality is also pre-built directly into the Topspin widget itself!
  • To take things one step further notice the 'Facebook Share' code in the <head> section of the HTML file. This is used so fans can easily embed the "Email for Media" widget directly onto their Facebook profile pages by simply sharing the link on their wall.
  • Feel free to use my sample code to create your own "Email for Media" page.

2) Create your "Email for Media" widget in Topspin. Simply go to the "Promote" page in the Topspin backend and create a new offer, select "Email for Media". Then, fill out the necessary fields to create your own widget. Please see the HTML file for how to embed the code or simply replace my embed code with yours.

3) Customize your widget (Optional). This is for more advanced users (as you can see in the code I did some basic customization of the example widget),  but there is some great documentation for how to customize here: https://docs.topspin.net/tiki-index.php?page=Email+for+Media+Widget...

Thanks for this Matt. It saved a lot of time in putting something like this together for our current tour. I also managed to combine it with the "Download Wnywhere". So two experiments in one: http://www.jackdaw4.com/download/

This is really helpful, thanks Matt.  I like that the Social icons are direct embeds to their respective sites. I'll definitely be updating Serious Black to do that. http://seriousblack.net
