I've worked with a bunch of client's who've all asked for the ability to use coupon codes or discount codes in their stores. So far, I've dealt with the workaround of creating new products, creating new offers with lower prices, and then building a secret section of the store to send the "discount" audience to. This works (kinda), but it's cumbersome, time-consuming, and inefficient. I'd be able to run much more effective campaigns if you'd let me create a discount code for fans to input during checkout.
I'm no developer, but could it be done by wiring the Redemption widget to the shopping cart? Where inputting the proper code causes the cart to apply a certain discount to the subtotal?

Seems like the redemption code feature is VERY close to what we need aswell. All we need is another field built in for redemption discount or fixed price. Could I pay someone for this? I'm all about subsidizing feature development :)
Hey guys. Sorry for the delay. Apparently I didn't set up the alerts properly. In any event, it's a little more complicated than adding a field to the purchase flow, but we are well aware of folks wanting the discount code support. Jason's work around is typically what we use internally as well and while it's not exactly what people are asking for it works in almost all cases. You can also use membership to gate special offers. Let me know if you need further explanation there.
